Book Club

Last week's book club meeting was great. We had a total of eight in attendance, which is our largest crowd to date!

If you haven't read Same Kind of Different As Me, I strongly suggest you do so. It's a quick read with a powerful message.

We selected Three Cups of Tea (not the children't version) for our next meeting, and will gather to discuss it on October 22nd. Hope you can make it!

Last week in review

It's been a busy week or so for me. I was in Denton last week attending a face-to-face segment of the classes I'm taking for my Masters in Library Sciences degree. Mixed business with pleasure, as I was able to stay those few days with my brother Danny and his wife Mitzi.

Back to school has been pretty seamless. I'm excited that we're going to start lessons with our high school students on data-base research.

Tonight is our Weight Watcher's meeting... the day of reckoning after having been out of town. (I know I gained .... ugh! Oh well.)

Back to school time!

So Monday begins the 2009-20012 school year at Gilmer Memorial Library... and I am excited! We are planning a year-long science theme at the library. Explore! is our motto and we'll begin by exploring in space. Watch for info on a Family Science Night in September. Welcome back!
